MAN UTD TELL LUIS NANI TO FORGET ABOUT NEW CONTRACT

Luis Nani has been told to forget about a new contract with Manchester United and concentrate on playing football, the Daily Mirror has reported. The Premier League side are said to have warned the Portugal winger not to discuss the issue in public any longer.

The Mirror adds that United were keen to sell Nani during the transfer window but saw a transfer to Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg break down at the 11th hour.

Nani, who has two years remaining on his current deal, is understood to have been angered by United’s failure to match his wage demands, with the 25year-old’s salary requests at the heart of what caused negotiations between the club and the player’s representatives to collapse.

But while Nani was upset by United, United have been upset by Nani, specifically claims that the midfielder will not now sign a new contract, and instead intends to see out the final few years of his existing deal and leave for free in 2014.

Nani moved to Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon in 2007 and has gone on to play almost 200 games under Sir Alex Ferguson, scoring nearly 40 goals
